Southern Suns Club Policy: Player and Team Allocations
Registrations are open to all individuals who wish to participate in competitions within the age groups and associations in which Southern Suns actively competes. All registrations must comply with the governing rules regarding age group eligibility for the respective leagues.
Players register as individuals with the option to nominate friendship groups to form part of or an entire team. The club prioritizes maintaining these friendship groups whenever possible.
The registration form will collect information regarding a player's background and basketball experience. When multiple teams are formed within the same association and age group, this information will assist the club in allocating players to appropriate teams.
To be eligible for competition entry, teams must consist of a minimum of six players. If fewer than six players register, those members will be given the following options:
• Invite additional players to meet the six-player minimum, or
• Transfer to another age group or competition where placement is available.
If a suitable team placement cannot be found, a full refund will be provided.
The club will allocate up to seven players per team unless a specific request is made for additional players. Friendship group teams must be willing to accept additional players up to this limit. Requests for a team with fewer than seven players may be considered but could require additional fees to cover any financial shortfall in association registration and match fees.
Failure to understand the club’s structure, values, and principles does not constitute grounds for a refund should a player choose to withdraw due to a dispute with the above criteria.
